Don’t be a Bystander! by Student #8B1.4

Submitted on October 27, 2011

During this PSA project, we learned about various camera shots and angles. My group and I based our PSA on bullying and not being a bystander. We used what we learned in technology, such as the different camera shots and angles, to ameliorate our PSA. We filmed this PSA in the park and had a fun, yet educational, time. Overall, I enjoyed this experience and hope we have other opportunities to experience something like this again.

PSA Problems by Student #8A2.10

A few things that we we had difficulty with were the locations we filmed at and the lack of available time for us to film. With such short deadlines and busy schedules, it was hard to find time for us all to work on the PSA together. However, we made it work by using the space near the techonolgy lab to film. It was a little hard and awkward, but in the end, I think we still got the message across effectively. Although we may not have had a “bank” or “house” to film in, we tried to make it as real as possible.

The next time I have technology class, I expect for my group to be ready for Ms. T. to check our work.  Today we are going to finish editing our project for 8th grade.  Our project is on bullying.  I hope that you (audience) enjoy our video.   Please watch it.  Please also tell us if we need to add anything.  Remember.  DON’T BE A BYSTANDER!!!  If you see someone getting bullied, tell a teacher or tell the bully to leave that person alone.

I <3 Videos by Student #8B1.2

Submitted on October 27, 2011

I love to produce and edit videos. They are my passion because when I watch a TV show, its cool to know how the different screen shots took place and how the different transitions work.

I was inspired with this hobby by my mom because she is a real TV producer and I’ve learned a lot from her and her editing TV shows.

My favorite type of videos to make are music videos because they are fun and exciting to make. They are fun and exciting to make because when I put them on YouTube I am showing the world what I can do.

This PSA project was very cool because I had a fun time making the PSA with my friends.

I like to watch music videos and make them, so I thought tech class would be fun and we would watch lots of videos. I learned a lot from this class, like different camera positions.  Since I have steady hands I can work a camera without a stand. I can be a camera woman or photographer. I also learned how to edit a video, that was pretty fun.

I hope that the next learners for this class will learn a lot and have lots of fun making and learning about videos.

Journalists have the responsibility to be truthful. They shouldn’t publish something that could hurt someone or something that is unnecessary. They can’t get off topic and their spelling and grammar has to be correct. Their information must be valid. They should try not to put their opinions into a story.

Submitted on October 6, 2011

In  7th grade Technology class we are learning many things. Our ultimate goal is to design a Technology classroom.  First, we learned about CADD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) and OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Administration) and how they are important in designing our classroom.

Next, we learned about scaling. It is important to know how to scale up and down when designing our classroom. After, we learned how to use Excel to design a budget for the construction of our classroom. We are currently working in groups to write about different kinds of technology in an average classroom. So far Technology has been a really fun class!

The History of the Internet by Student #6.2.31

Submitted: September 14, 2011

I learned that technology has evolved from newspapers, radios, and movie reels to smartphones and a computer in most families’ homes.  It’s easier to share information, look up information and to connect through social networking. Today we can Skype with family members who live either in another state or out of the country.  For the future, I believe that newspapers, magazines, and textbooks will be extinct and the internet will become faster for people to use.

Cyber Safety by Students #6.2.3 and #6.2.22

Cyber Safety by Student #6.2.3, submitted September 21, 2011

We learned about cyber safety today in class. I learned that you should never put personal information on the web. You also shouldn’t cyber bully. This means you shouldn’t post pictures on the internet that will offend a person or people. We got to watch a few videos and then make a comic strip related to that. What we learned was very infoming and I know not to give personal information out on the internet.
