Quantity of People by Student # 8A2-14

This marking period in Technology, we made a P.S.A (Public Service CrowdAnnouncement). My group’s P.S.A was about cyber-bullying. I learned, in this class; editting, filming, camera shots and a little of acting. My favorite camera shot was the MTV shot. I also learned how to use my time wisely. The main difficulty my group encountered was the quantity of people in it. This is mainly the branch of our other problems. Over-all I enjoyed this class and it is unfortunate that I won’t be able to have it next year because I will be in high school. Thank you!

Hi, my name is Bill and I have been in this technology class for over a month and I’ve learned a lot. In technology class I learned how to create a PSA. A PSA is  a video created to inform people about certain things. My PSA was about cyber bullying. We believed it was important to inform people about bullying because it is a serious thing. Hopefully our PSA showed people what bullying can do to people and how it affects them. I fully believe that this interactive learning experience is important and was very fun to be a part of.

Don’t be a Bystander! by Student #8B1.4

During this PSA project, we learned about various camera shots and angles. My group and I based our PSA on bullying and not being a bystander. We used what we learned in technology, such as the different camera shots and angles, to ameliorate our PSA. We filmed this PSA in the park and had a fun, yet educational, time. Overall, I enjoyed this experience and hope we have other opportunities to experience something like this again.

PSA Problems by Student #8A2.10

A few things that we we had difficulty with were the locations we filmed at and the lack of available time for us to film. With such short deadlines and busy schedules, it was hard to find time for us all to work on the PSA together. However, we made it work by using the space near the techonolgy lab to film. It was a little hard and awkward, but in the end, I think we still got the message across effectively. Although we may not have had a “bank” or “house” to film in, we tried to make it as real as possible.

The next time I have technology class, I expect for my group to be ready for Ms. T. to check our work.  Today we are going to finish editing our project for 8th grade.  Our project is on bullying.  I hope that you (audience) enjoy our video.   Please watch it.  Please also tell us if we need to add anything.  Remember.  DON’T BE A BYSTANDER!!!  If you see someone getting bullied, tell a teacher or tell the bully to leave that person alone.

I <3 Videos by Student #8B1.2

I love to produce and edit videos. They are my passion because when I watch a TV show, its cool to know how the different screen shots took place and how the different transitions work.

I was inspired with this hobby by my mom because she is a real TV producer and I’ve learned a lot from her and her editing TV shows.

My favorite type of videos to make are music videos because they are fun and exciting to make. They are fun and exciting to make because when I put them on YouTube I am showing the world what I can do.

This PSA project was very cool because I had a fun time making the PSA with my friends.

I like to watch music videos and make them, so I thought tech class would be fun and we would watch lots of videos. I learned a lot from this class, like different camera positions.  Since I have steady hands I can work a camera without a stand. I can be a camera woman or photographer. I also learned how to edit a video, that was pretty fun.

I hope that the next learners for this class will learn a lot and have lots of fun making and learning about videos.

Journalists have the responsibility to be truthful. They shouldn’t publish something that could hurt someone or something that is unnecessary. They can’t get off topic and their spelling and grammar has to be correct. Their information must be valid. They should try not to put their opinions into a story.

In  7th grade Technology class we are learning many things. Our ultimate goal is to design a Technology classroom.  First, we learned about CADD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) and OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Administration) and how they are important in designing our classroom.

Next, we learned about scaling. It is important to know how to scale up and down when designing our classroom. After, we learned how to use Excel to design a budget for the construction of our classroom. We are currently working in groups to write about different kinds of technology in an average classroom. So far Technology has been a really fun class!
